Homemade Soap Workshop
This workshop will cover making cold-process soap for beginners and experienced soapmakers. Participants will learn a basic recipe using olive oil and coconut oil as main ingredients along with the safety precautions required with using lye. Participants will go home with the recipe and some bars of soap that will need to cure for a few weeks before using. This workshop will be taught by Cindy Hagemann who has been making soap for 25 years.

Take home skin care products that you've made with natural and wild ingredients from Rural Resources farm!
With botanist and Rural Resources board member Emily Bidgood, we'll explore the farm to learn what native plants are edible and medical for skin and self care, such as goldenrod, wild rose, jewelweed, plantain, spice bush, witchhazel, and more. Then we'll whip up recipes in the Rural Resources "laboratory" kitchen for healing skin salves, rejuvenating facial toners, herbals teas, and you'll take home what you've crafted.
This workshop is for all ages. Join us to learn the basics of leather working. In this workshop, participants will create a leather ornament special for this holiday season!​
